Pimatgol is an old alley in the heart of Seoul that holds 600 years of history and communal memories of the people. However, due to recent redevelopment, the legacy of the living community is on the verge of disappearing. ‘Memorial Reconstruction’ is an attempt to collect the personal narratives and local history of the alley by utilising VR technology. The intangible, fragmented, and personal memories are reconstructed and assembled into new physical alleys, and eventually this collective space infiltrates into current buildings, overlapping space and time.
