The “Step to Entanglement” presents a staircase that intervenes the host building with a triple double-helix staircase that replicates the disconnection in the circulation of Chisenhale Works with different routes reaching each activity: art studios, dance studio, backyard and main space.
The proposed staircases are then inserted as a commentary of this non-sensical circulation positioned in a strategic part of the building. It reconciles the fragmented circulation by centralising the staircases but at the same time keeps the essence of the paralleled circulation.
