TAAL Architects has been invited to participate in the ‘Next Onggi Village International Design Competition. The designated site is rich in the history of craftsmanship and the heritage of producing the traditional Korean earthenware vessels ‘Onggi’.
Our proposal aims to reinvigorate Onggi Village by penetrating the small follys throughout the village and bridge the past(traditional handicraft) and the future(immersive media). The masterplan reutilise the out-of-use facilities that could adopt newly devised programmes that induce visitors' curiosity and excitements. I took part in designing various follys and structures to revitalise the village as an attraction and cultural centre.
